Hello lovely ones and happy Full Moon in Capricorn which takes place on Tuesday 19th July at 3.59pm PST (adjust accordingly for your timezone) What an intense few weeks it has been for our world...it's hard to be unaffected by the destruction, violence and chaos but it's important to remember that for all the darkness - love, light and goodness is still present and will prevail.
But let's talk about Pluto... because we need to understand the role of this powerful planet in the process of transformation taking place in the Capricorn ruled area of our natal charts (and for the world at large).
Astrologically Pluto represents subconscious forces and all that lies below the surface. Pluto digs deep to unearth all that is hidden or buried and often not that pretty. Pluto rules the cycles of death and rebirth and the themes of power and wealth. Perhaps most significantly for our purposes this is the planet of powerful transformation.
In 2008 Pluto moved into Capricorn, which in the natural zodiac rules the 10th house of occupation, career, ambition, government, social ranking and status, politics, authority and achievement.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn who is the lord of karma and doing things by the book and and crossing the t's and dotting the i's or else...
It's no coincidence that when Pluto moved into Capricorn we saw the worst worldwide economic crisis unearthing many of the secretive, hidden practices that led to the implosion of the economy.
Since then we have seen an uprising and revolt against the 'powers that be' - governments, traditional power structures - the patriarchy - across the world.
Much of this astrology (the Pluto Uranus squares which were in full force between 2011 and 2015) is similar to that of the 1960's.
And when you look at what has been happening across the globe since 2008 the themes are worryingly similar to that time!
Women's rights, race relations (or, let's be blunt - in some cases outright racism) the 'let's go to war at any given opportunity' brigade versus the anti war 'killing people doesn't solve anything' group.
I am perhaps not being as articulate or graceful as I could be with my language but hopefully you get my point which is that in fifty years on we have evolved in so many ways and yet are dealing with the same fundamental issues. Gah!
Incidentally, it was during the last Pluto in Capricorn cycle that the American revolution took place and the seeds were sown for the French revolution (which somewhat karmically occurred during Pluto in Aquarius)..
There is a revolution going on for the world at large, it's painful and far from pretty but it undoubtedly has a purpose...
Since 2008 all of us have had Pluto enter an area of our unique charts and will too have have experienced some of the Plutonian unearthing, uprooting, destruction and accompanying intense emotion in the life areas ruled by Capricorn.
As it is the life areas governed by Capricorn in our chart are likely to be ones in which have lots of karmic lessons to learn and at times delays in 'achievement' until we learn to do things by Saturn's rule book and are then rewarded. Add Pluto's transit to this existing cosmic kismet and you can see how Capricorn ruled life areas have truly been through the wringer for the last eight years.
Despite the 'delays' or 'difficulties' do not underestimate the potential for power and success in these life areas as Soulstrology says that these are the blessings of both Saturn and Pluto.
At this Capricorn full moon we are midway through the cycle as Pluto remains in Capricorn until 2024.
We are also in the midst of a wrangle between Capricorn's ruler Saturn who is in a tense square aspect to Neptune which is the biggest astrological theme of this year. Once again the theme is that of destruction - the dissolution of existing structures in our lives in order to create new, more suitable ones.
All of us will be at different stages of this process but if you are in the destructive phase please try not be disheartened and take solace in the words of Picasso (which is the essence of so many spiritual teachings) that 'every act of creation is at first an act of destruction'.
This is what we need to keep in mind during this Pluto in Capricorn transit for ourselves and the world. There is a purpose to the destruction and purging.
We must allow what is decaying to die. We must be brave enough to face what Pluto unearths and see things for what they are - not what we want them to be. By doing so we can allow what no longer serves us to fall away and to create from a more soul centered place. We must trust that at times some of what is taken away from us 'against our will' is actually our soul taking charge for our highest good and that in the bigger picture these losses are making way for our true destiny.
The best life we can experience is one which is a continual process of transformation. Because by doing so we allow ourselves to grow and flow with the waters of life rather than fighting against the current.
At this critical juncture of the midway point of Pluto's cycle of transformation allow the moon's illumination to shine brightly to show you where you can release and surrender to the process.
Harness the intensity of this powerful full moon to dig deep beneath the surface of your life and embrace purging emotionally and otherwise so that you can enjoy the miracles that come from metamorphosis.
I am wishing you all, and our beloved world, the strength to see through the process of purging so we can embrace our true destiny and soulful power - for our highest good and the greater good of all.
And so may it be.
