Hello lovely ones and happy almost Full Moon!
The Capricorn Full Moon takes place on Wednesday June 27th 2018 at 10.53pm PT (adjust for your timezone) which for many of you may mean that the Full Moon actually takes place on Thursday 28th June 2018.
This Full Moon falls at 6 degrees of Capricorn, opposing the Sun who sits at 6 degrees of Cancer.
Saturn the ruler of Capricorn sits right by the Moon at 5 degrees of Capricorn meaning that the Full Moon's energies are blended with the cosmic life coach leading to the Soulstrology theme for this Full Moon...
I think you are probably all fairly familiar with the energies of Saturn but let me remind you as it is so important for his energies to be in our consciousness in order for us to best navigate this Full Moon.
Saturn is the lord of time. The karmic teacher. The cosmic life coach.
He rules time.
Cause and effect.
As you do, so you shall reap is Saturn's motto.
He is the great teacher who teaches us the lessons we need to learn in order for our souls to evolve.
He is also the great rewarder who like the cosmic headteacher he is, awards gold stars when we do the work and pass his tests.
His gold stars come in the form of the rewards of solid structures which can stand the tests of time, enduring success and 'status'.
For each of us this Capricorn Full Moon will be falling in a different part of our charts - see the Soulstrology zodiac guide below to check exactly where this Full Moon falls for you and the life areas which la luna (and good old Saturn) are illuminating.
Saturn's retrograde motion at the time of this Full Moon adds to the intensity of the Full Moon and the karmic lessons that we will all be experiencing in some way or another.
Saturn rules fear and limitations and in his retrograde motion our fears, our limitations and our deepest subconscious blocks are being brought to the surface for us to deal with.
Because here is the thing, if we cannot create the space internally for our desires - due to our limiting beliefs, our fears, our subconscious wounds and blocks, and so on - then we do not have the necessary structure within our consciousness in order to create and experience the solid structures and successes in our lives (and the physical realm) that we desire.
Saturn moved into Capricorn at the Winter Solstice 2017 and will depart at the Spring Equinox 2020 (although he will retro sashay his back into Capricorn later in 2020 but only momentarily).
There is much significance to the dates of this transit.
The Winter Solstice is the darkest day of the year with the least physical light and the darkest dawn.
It is a day which can appear bleak and without promise but from that day onward we experience an increase in daily light as the days get progressively lighter and lighter until the Spring Equinox which is equal parts day and night - a time of balance, equality and births/new beginnings.
We are therefore only six months in to Saturn's transit of Capricorn and we have over 18 months of this transit left before each of us birth an entirely new chapter of our lives, hopefully with the cosmic taskmaster's blessings...
The initial stage of Saturn's transit of any sign of the zodiac is the most challenging.
It is the one where we often experience the most pain as Saturn surveys the area of life he is transiting in our unique chart and zooms in on the cracks and holes in shaky foundations and shows us where we are far from where we want to be, no matter how much we might be convincing ourselves otherwise.
And that is where we are at right now, at this Full Moon with Saturn at her side in retrograde motion...
We are each seeing the state of affairs in the Capricorn ruled parts of our lives and indeed life in general.
We are being forced to see things in black and white.
And for some this may not be pretty.
Rather, it may be pretty painful.
To a degree, this is about karma. This is about karmic lessons.
And this is where we have of the most important life lessons to learn.
Soulstrology tells us that karma can appear complicated and unfair.
It is a term which is bandied about to make us feel as though we did something wrong and are now facing the results.
A term which induces feelings of guilt and shame.
But here is the thing.
Karma isn't always straightforward and it may not be as simple as to link our karma to specific acts in this lifetime to which we can point to and say 'oh, I did X and so Y happened'.
Sometimes it's this lifetime. Sometimes it's a past life time.
We often have karmic connections with others from past lifetimes which we came to resolve in this lifetime - hence why we can have intense relationships with others which can go from love to hate or can burn out and fade away as quickly as it appeared and ignited.
But none of this is a punishment.
As much as it may feel like a punishment, it truly isn't.
There is a purpose to the pain we experience, the challenges we go face and obstacles we overcome, the mountains which we have to climb which only we are supposed to climb.
This is the process of alchemy and in Saturn's eyes this is doing his work and this is what can change our karma.
Yes that is right, we can change our karma/ destiny.
We may be headed towards one direction (which may not be a place we want to end up) and we can alter our destiny by greeting karma and it's challenges like a boss and saying, 'C'mon - let's do this'.
But to do this we need to alter the lens through which we view karma.
Rather than viewing it through a lens of fear (which is the shadow of Saturn/Capricorn) that karma is black and white - you did bad, you get bad - you're judged by your actions - instead we must view karma through a lens of love (Cancer) that karma is a gift which brings you the lessons for your soul's evolution, that there is no good or bad as such, just lessons which repeat themselves until you have learned them and can move forward to new patterns and experiences in life.
You may have heard the quote: -
'If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got'
We have to change our patterns and our behavior if we want to change what we manifest in our lives.
We have to change our actions if we want to change our karma and change our lives.
We are responsible (Saturn) for our lives and well-being.
We can point the finger at others (and sometimes rightfully so) but that will not help us to change our karma.
Only us engaging the consciousness of love (Cancer) and responsibility (Capricorn) and balancing these two (as they oppose each other at this Full Moon) and embracing karma through the filter of love will allow us to transform our lives, and especially the Capricorn ruled parts of our lives.
We will all be at different stages of our journey.
For some this Capricorn Full Moon may represent a milestone of achievement in the Capricorn ruled parts of our charts and passing some of Saturn's tests.
If this is the case, celebrate, give thanks to the universe and then knuckle down again to make sure you deal pro-actively work with the cosmos to create the karma, aka destiny you want to continue to have and to work towards a glittering new chapter come Spring 2020.
If the lessons are coming hard and fast at this Full Moon then please know this.
You are not being punished.
You are not a bad person.
You are not destined for doom and gloom.
And this too shall pass...
You just need to use this Full Moon to do the internal work of embracing whatever is being thrown at you and saying, 'This is happening for me, not to me' and working with karma through the lens of love.
Your rewards await you. So do mine.
We are on this journey together and we will walk together to our karmic rewards by being brave love fueled conscious cosmic warriors who do the work.
It may take some time. It may take some meltdowns.
But remember, sometimes we need to breakdown to breakthrough.
It's all part of the journey.
Full Moon Mantras
I trust that whatever I am experiencing at this time is necessary for my soul's evolution
I do not fear karma as punishment, but accept it as a part of life and a tool which I can use to create my destiny
I know that even if things aren't currently as I would like them to be, this does not mean that my desires will not manifest
I choose to be both pragmatic and hopeful and to proceed with faith, but also based on facts
I embrace the opportunity at this Full Moon to release fears and self sabotaging patterns and to clear the path for new beginnings
Sending you all extra love at this Full Moon.
Be good to yourselves and each other (and listen to a soundbath!)
