Hello lovely ones and happy almost New Moon in Taurus!
This powerful Taurus New Moon falls at 14 degrees of Taurus this Saturday May 4 at 3.45pm PT (adjust, as always for your timezone).
Use the Soulstrology zodiac guide below to check where Taurus rules in your unique chart and if you are more comfortable with reading your chart, then check where you have between 12 and 16 degrees of Taurus in your chart, including any planets you may have at that point, as they will be triggered by the New Moon.
As you no doubt know by now, at each New Moon the Sun and Moon join together in a zodiac sign, focusing their energies in a specific part of our charts and by doing so giving us a gentle nudge and the opportunity to manifest in those life areas.
At last year’s Taurus New Moon, cosmic change agent Uranus was just moving into Taurus and beginning to plant the seeds of the changes in his seven year plus transit of the Taurus ruled parts of each of our charts.
He then turned retrograde, went back into Aries and only recently re-entered Taurus but now he is here to stay and we can expect that over the next seven years the life areas ruled by Taurus in each of our unique charts will undergo a HUGE transformation and rebirth.
Expect the unexpected!
This weekend’s Taurus New Moon gives us a great opportunity to start to sow the seeds of change in specific areas of life and to harness some of the powerful celestial aspects at play to get intuitively guided about what we might like to create.
Remember, change happens in layers, so with the Uranus in Taurus transit happening over the next seven years, it is not like we will necessary experience sudden shifts right away, they will unfold in waves over time, and each year, with the Taurus New and Full Moons and other celestial aspects made to Uranus, we will have the opportunities to work with this long transit to make deep changes to take us toward that new chapter which awaits each of us.
A caveat to this is that if you have anything at zero - five degrees of Taurus - so any planets or points in your chart within those degrees - you are likely to be feeling those Uranus shifts right now as your chart will be triggered as Uranus is at around 3 degrees Taurus right now.
But turning now to this Saturday’s Taurus New Moon and the Soulstrology theme, to dream bigger and level up.
The New Moon makes a beautiful sextile aspect to dreamy Neptune in Pisces.
This helps us to harness the intuitive, creative, spiritual energy of Neptune (exalted in Pisces, his home sign) and combine it with the earthy, practical, grounded energy of Taurus.
It is as though the cosmos is asking us at this time to allow ourselves to dream big in the Taurus ruled parts of each of our charts/lives, in order to level up.
Given Taurus is a fixed sign, it is one that doesn’t really like change. This sign likes the security that comes with familiar territory so it is a sign that craves and thrives off stability.
That is why this Uranus in Taurus transit over the next seven years is going to be so interesting because there are such seemingly opposing energies at play - tradition/stability/familiarity/steadiness (Taurus) and zany, out there, unexpected, world turning upside down kind of change (Uranus).
Uranus and Taurus aren’t easy bedfellows and so this isn’t necessarily going to be the smoothest of transits for some, or for the world at large (more on this shortly).
Nonetheless the shifts that will come from this transit will be nothing short of life changing and liberating, for each of us and on a wider scale.
Remember that in the natural zodiac, which applies to each of us, Taurus governs the second house.
The second house rules our personal income, finances, possessions and our values and self-esteem.
There is such a powerful link between our values and self-esteem and our personal finances/what we own/possess.
Soulstrology tells us that over the next seven years we will see great shifts in value systems, both individually and collectively.
Our values will shift in a way which means we want to live our lives differently, want to work differently and even look at money and possessions through a different filter.
Everything is pointing towards this being a positive thing.
That we will connect more to Mother Earth, to the simpler things in life, to the value of family and community. We will value all of these more and as a result there will be re-balancing of the scales in how we live, work and operate.
Ultimately this will be both liberating and progressive for each of us and humanity as a whole.
But, it may not come smoothly, or without upsets.
Uranus is a rebellious disruptor. He comes and shakes things up and can create quite a stir. His energies and ideas can seem ‘out there’ and ‘crazy’ but in time and perhaps with that beneficial filter of hindsight are viewed as ‘genius’ (Uranus is associated with inventions and strokes of genius!)
Over the next seven years each of us will experience these energies in the natural zodiac Taurus themes/ parts of lives as well as the Taurus ruled parts of our unique charts/ lives.
It may cause some mayhem during the process, particularly because the Taurus ruled parts of each of our lives are areas in which we may find ourselves adopting that fixed Taurus energies, but ultimately the results will be magical.
Right now, at this powerful New Moon, we have the opportunity to harness the energy of Neptune to get spiritual and creative about these Taurus life areas, to receive intuitive downloads and most of all to allow ourselves to dream bigger so we can level up.
There is always room for growth, always a next level, always more miracles. We just need to be open to them!
However there are other tenser aspects at play at this New Moon which could have us feeling those dark Moon feels….which I think as you guys know by now can be as intense as the Full Moon feels!
Jupiter in Sagittarius opposes Mars in Gemini at the time of the New Moon.
This could have us thinking large (Jupiter in Sagittarius) and then feeling the need to overthink, talk too much or overdo things (Mars in Gemini).
Remember that Taurus energy is to go slow and steady and to grow slow and steady, so keep that in mind if this Jupiter/Mars opposition starts to take hold of you!
Change happens in layers, not overnight, and as Taurus knows too well, slow and steady and grounded wins the race of life….
Another tense aspect at the New Moon is Pluto, Saturn and the South node, all sitting together in stern Capricorn, making a square to Venus in Aries.
As this is a Taurus New Moon, Venus is the ruler of this New Moon (as she rules Taurus as well as Libra) and this tense aspect between destructive but ultimately transformative Pluto, the lord of Karma Saturn and the South node (representing the past, our comfort zone and perhaps our rut in this lifetime) and the ruler of this New Moon adds to the energies of change that Uranus is ushering into the Taurus ruled parts of our charts/lives.
We may realize when journaling, doing our cosmic coaching homework, or connecting to the energies of this New Moon that in fact we have to face certain facts and realities (Saturn) and even destruction (Pluto) in order to move towards our destiny (just as the South Node squares Venus, so too does the opposing North node - aka our destiny - squares Venus).
The energy of these particular tense celestial aspects is that of transformation, building new structures for success, and moving away from what we know, our comfort zone, which may in fact be a rut and a place which may be comfortable to us, but doesn’t ultimately serve us, or allow us to progress and fulfill our destiny.
Some of these tenser aspects may certain be felt by us at the time of this New Moon, but remember that is a good thing.
Leveling up and expanding, is rarely without a process which involves some discomfort.
They are called growing pains for a reason, but such growing pains serve a greater purpose!
In summary, this is a very exciting New Moon and a powerful opportunity for us to dream a bigger dream and to begin the process of leveling up, slowly ushering in changes which are both liberating and allow us to truly progress on our path.
There is work to be done, in some cases discomfort to be felt and processed, but ultimately, it is all for our highest good and the fulfillment of our destinies.
