Hello lovely ones and happy almost Full Moon!
Whew, I don’t know about you, but I am FEELING all those Full Moon feels…this may have something to do with my Sagittarius Sun sign, but I suspect that is in fact more to do with all that is going on in the cosmos…
We have a powerful Full Moon on Monday June 17, Mercury’s pre-retrograde shadow starts on June 20 and on June 21 we have the powerful combo of Neptune turning retrograde and the Summer Solstice.
And of course let us not forget that eclipse season is around the corner with a powerful total solar eclipse on July 2 and a partial lunar eclipse on July 16.
Oh, with Mercury turning retrograde in between eclipses….
Feeling all those feels?! It’s normal.
It’s going to be an intense six weeks ahead.
And I will be sharing more on how to best manage this in the July cosmic update as well as the Solstice, eclipse season and Mercury retrograde posts.
But for now, let us focus on this Sagittarius Full Moon and how best each of us can work with the somewhat intense, and conflicting, energies.
This Full Moon falls at 25 degrees of Sagittarius and takes place at 1.30am PT on Monday June 17 2019 (adjust for your timezone to know the exact time of the Full Moon for you).
You can use the Soulstrology zodiac guide below to see where this Full Moon is falling in your unique chart.
Just read for your Sun and Rising sign and those are the life areas ruled by Sagittarius in your chart.
As always, if you are more familiar with your chart, you can look at the exact degree of this Full Moon and where it may be falling in your chart and/or any planets you may have between 22 - 27 of Sagittarius as these will be activated by this Full Moon.
What this means is the themes of those planets/traits will be brought to the surface in the lunar illumination, adding to the intensity of this Full Moon, so do take note of them.
What makes this Sagittarius Full Moon all the more intense is the fact that the Full Moon falls conjunct (just one degree away!) from the galactic center!
The galactic center is the center of our milky way galaxy and is considered to be a very powerful energy portal as the source of the most gravitational energy.
When it was discovered it was found it fell at 26 degrees of Sagittarius (although now has shifted to 27 degrees or thereabouts).
If you have anything at, or around this degree in your natal chart, you have a very specific mission and purpose in this lifetime, one centered around being a source of wisdom, information, hope and inspiration for others and channeling for others in some way.
But either way, for any of us, we will have the galactic center degrees of Sagittarius falling somewhere and by understanding where this is, and how this is aspected to other planets in our chart, we can understand ourselves, our soul’s purpose and our lives so much better.
The galactic center is the source of the most gravitational energy in the cosmos and in our charts, is the source of deep knowledge, inspiration and power.
We will explore the Galactic center further in the future, but for now, for the purposes of this Full Moon, all we need to know is that this is an EXTRA potent Full Moon, one that is literally connected to the center of our milky way galaxy, a hugely powerful energy portal, making this Full Moon a very powerful mid year cosmic window of opportunity.
But turning now to the title of this post and the Soulstrology theme of ‘Faith, fear, feelings and facts…’ and how this plays into this powerful Full Moon conjunct the galactic center.
You all probably know the traits of Sagittarius by now and like every sign, it has its light and shadow.
Faith is one of the most recognizable and positive traits of Sagittarius, but this faith can be sometimes dogmatic and obsessive, a preacher, rather than a true teacher.
Nonetheless, with Jupiter in Sagittarius this year, Soulstrology has already told us (for those of you who’ve been Members for a while you may remember this from the Jupiter in Sagittarius post last year) that one of the ways in which we will best engage the light and tap into all the blessings of Jupiter in Sagittarius, is through adopting the Sagittarius trait of faith.
Faith is therefore a theme of this Full Moon, with the lunar spotlight shining brightly on our faith, checking in and our belief systems, and whether we truly have faith in ourselves, others, our lives and indeed the cosmos.
The day before the Full Moon, Jupiter in Sagittarius makes a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces.
This aspect is tense and bring things up in the lunar spotlight, namely showing us where perhaps we have been too trusting, too full of faith, without seeing reality/facts (shadow of Neptune/Pisces is deception, being overly rose tinted and naive) and/or in someway testing our faith.
This rather tense aspect is leveled out somewhat by the another powerful aspect which is Saturn in Capricorn sextiling Neptune in Pisces.
This is a very grounding aspect which is exact the day after the Full Moon, but we can tap into on the Full Moon itself to find that balance between reality/facts (Saturn in sensible Capricorn) and our dreams (Neptune in Pisces) and to understand that faith backed by the substance of action, hard work and foraging through facts, can help us to achieve our dreams through our unique spiritual practices.
However, Mercury and Mars conjunct each other in sensitive Cancer and right by the fated North Node, also in Cancer, can mean that our feelings and our fears bubble up rather forcefully to the surface at this Full Moon.
There is purpose to this process and any pain we may feel.
The North node is about what is outside our comfort zone and what we need to reach for and step into, in order to fulfill our destiny.
In Cancer this includes our feelings and emotions and both owning them and understanding their purpose in our lives to help us to heal, transform and ultimately receive.
Both Mercury and Mars oppose stern Saturn in Capricorn meaning we may feel deluged by our emotions - our thoughts and feelings (Mercury/Mars in Cancer) and may have to face certain reality checks (Saturn in Capricorn) in the lunar spotlight (Full Moon) which makes us fearful and indeed questioning both facts and our faith!
‘Urgh’ you may be thinking! This doesn’t sound very fun. It fact, it sounds rather full on
But I invite you to think about this differently, in light of all else happening in the cosmos and the fact that this powerful Full Moon is activating the galactic center - the source of so much energy and power, in our lives and the world at large.
Life isn’t supposed to be an easy glide from success to success, achievement to achievement, miracle to miracle, to have it all, be it all, do it all, all the time (this kind of way of trying to operate is some of the shadow of Sagittarius of living it too large).
Rather, life is a series of ups and downs, trials and rewards, breakdowns and breakthroughs.
We are supposed to traverse all of this journey called life and embrace it all for what it is, knowing the highs will be followed by lows, that rock bottom will be followed by being propelled back upwards, that our faith will get tested time and time again, that fear will raise its head, that feelings you thought you had dealt with, or didn’t realize you had, will spring forth.
It is traversing this journey, feeling all the feels, falling, failing, losing our faith, sorting what is fact from fiction, that will allow us to flourish.
It is a cycle we will repeat over and over again until we depart this earth plane.
And it is going through this process, embracing this cycle, which will allow us to find ourselves, our faith in ourselves, others and life, and ultimately to flourish once again.
It is this process which allows us to connect to the galactic center and to our center - our soul, our unique journey.
We must not fear it, or avoid it, we must face it and flow (and sometimes get whirred up in a frenzy!) through it.
This Sagittarius Full Moon is so powerful on so many counts.
It comes at a very significant time in the year, as we are each on the cusp of a new chapter and season.
But we must understand the themes at play and embrace them, within both our consciousness and on the physical plane as they perhaps bring us challenges leading up to and at this Full Moon.
Your Soulstrology Scopes, which are coming soon, will help you to work with the Full Moon on a much more practical level, but for now, let the contents of this post digest within your consciousness and review the life areas ruled by Sagittarius in your unique chart and/or triggered by this Full Moon and allow your soul to connect to the powerful energies at play.
